What Are the Services and Benefits Gained from Membership in NASA?

Membership in NASA includes the following:

Legislative Representation

NASA employs a full time lobbyist during the legislative session .

NASA develops and promotes legislation that addresses the needs and concerns of Nevada school administrators.

NASA works to modify and defeat legislation that is detrimental to education.

Publishes a bi-weekly legislative newsletter (LIFE) during the session.

Conferences

NASA annually conducts two conferences for the entire membership. Free re-certification credit is given to those who attend.

NASA annually conducts two conferences for Assistant Principals and entry level administrators.

NASA annually conducts two law workshops; one in Reno and one in Las Vegas.

The Nevada Principals' Academy and The Nevada Superintendents' Academy.

The Nevada Principals' Academy and The Nevada Superintendents' Academy were established in 2004. Both programs provide Nevada Administrators with workshops, conferences, and retreats dealing with a variety of timely topics thoughout the state. High quality national and local speakers are featured in these events.

Professional Publication

Publishes The Nevada Administrator, a statewide professional newsletter, five times per year.

Will publish LIFE, a legislative update ten times during the 2003 legislative session.
